Welcome back to another episode of Local Search Tuesdays. It’s the last episode of 2023, so today, I’m sharing the list of the 10 most popular episodes of the year.

Every year for the last episode of the year, I share a recap of the most-watched episodes of the year. We use Wistia for our on-site videos, but we also post every video to YouTube, so I download view numbers, did a little number crunching, and came up with a list of the most popular videos of the year.

This series started as short videos where I shared a single tactic for Local SEO, but through the years, I started sharing recordings of conference presentations and tips from speakers at conferences. It’s really cool to see which episodes everyone vibed with every year, and I was a little surprised at the top result this year. Here’s the list:

Number 10: How to detect duplicate content
In this video, I shared a simple trick that helps you check for duplicate content on your site.

Number 9: My slides from Brighton SEO San Diego
I was kinda surprised that this one made the list, it was only released the week of Thanksgiving.

Number 8: How to bury bad reviews
In this episode, I explained how to combine three simple tactics to quickly bury bad reviews that show in your default review sort on your Google Business Profile.

Number 7: New Google Business Profile Policies
I walked through the updates to the GBP guidelines and policies and explained why the updates were important.

Number 6: The 2023 Local Search Ranking Factors
Every year, the Local Search Ranking Factors study is released, which outlines the most influential factors for local search visibility. This was my episode talking about the new results.

Number 5: My slides from the Ignition Automotive Conference
SearchLab started a new conference series for auto dealers this year, and these were the slides from my closing keynote.

Number 4: Expert tips from NADA
I collected tips from some of the speakers and experts at the National Auto Dealers Association conference and shared them in this episode.

Number 3: Common problems with car dealer websites
We have a really cool mini-audit scoring matrix that we use to check the basic SEO tactics on dealership websites, and in this episode, I shared the most common mistakes we’ve seen over almost 1,000 audits.

Number 2: Any vehicle dealer can display inventory on GBP
Earlier this year, rolled out the live inventory list on GBP to all vehicle dealers. Previously, only car dealers could display their inventory on their profile, but now motorcycle dealers, RV dealers, and powersports dealers are able to do so.

And number 1: NADA mean tweets
I’ve been doing this bit for years at the National Auto Dealers Association conference. I grab random experts and have them read mean things that people tweeted about them, and it’s always hilarious, even though it’s obviously fake. This episode was the most-watched episode by a massive long shot, nothing else came anywhere close.

So those were the most popular episodes of 2023. It’s been an amazing year, and I want to thank all of you for continuing to watch my goofy videos. Hopefully, you learned some things that helped, and laughed a little too.

But that’s all the time we’ve got left for this year… So you know what that means.

We totally just high-fived ‘cause you learned something awesome. Thanks for watching, and we’ll see you again next year for another episode of Local Search Tuesdays.
