My guest today is Steve Hammer, President at RankHammer, a full-service digital marketing agency offering SEO, PPC and Analytics. Steve is a well known speaker who’s presented just about everywhere. You can usually catch him at Pubcon, SMX, Brighton SEO, State of Search and Heroconf. RankHammer has been recognized as the small agency of the year by US search awards.

His interests outside of search are also well-known. Steve takes food and beverage very seriously. No offense to any of my previous guests, but he’s been by far the most knowledgeable beer fan that I’ve had on. He and I will be tasting the Goose Island’s Bourbon County Stout. For serious beer fans, we’re comparing the 2017 and 2019.

Steve has been one of my favorite thought-leaders during the quarantine. I wanted to touch on some subjects outside of search. We’ll talk about agency life, mental health and the numerous ways the industry is changing for better and worse.

Founder and Principal

Mark Bealin is the Founder and Principal at SearchLab, which was founded in March 2017. Under his leadership, Clutch and Manifest both named SearchLab one of the top agencies in Chicago in 2018 and 2019.

Mark has been helping small and medium-sized businesses with SEO and PPC since 2007. He is an in-demand speaker and contributor at events throughout the country, sought out for his expertise in SEO, Paid Search and Analytics.

He is a board member of EO Chicago and a guest lecturer at DePaul University. Mark lives in Chicago with his wife and three children. He's a former varsity high school football coach and remains active at St. Ignatius College Prep.
