This week I’m keeping it short and sweet because something huge is about to drop. On Thursday we are unveiling the 2025 edition of our Automotive Google Business Profile Study, the largest SEO research project in the car dealer world.
We dug into more than 2,200 dealership profiles and analyzed over 150 data points to uncover which SEO tactics really move the needle in search results. The results are bigger and better than ever, with a cleaner study page that is easier to digest. And for those of you who want to dive deeper, I have added a downloadable PDF filled with extra insights you will not find on the site.

Welcome back to another episode of Local Search Tuesdays. This week’s episode is short, because Thursday is a huge day… We’re releasing the 2025 edition of the auto dealer GBP study!
We’re finally releasing the 2025 edition of the largest SEO study ever done in automotive. We pulled over 150 data points on over 2,220 dealerships and crunched the numbers to see if the best practices everyone preaches actually line up with what we see in real world search results.
Come to the SearchLab site on Thursday morning to check out the amazing insights and get a detailed playbook for SEO for your dealership. Or, just pay attention to our social media accounts, we’ll be blasting out links all day on Thursday that will link directly to the study landing page.
It’s bigger than last year’s study, and we learned a few things from publishing similar data last year, so this year’s study page is more compressed and much easier to read. We’ve also added a bonus this year - if you want even more data, you can download a PDF of the study. The PDF includes extra info that’s not included on the study page on the site, so you’ll definitely want to grab a copy on Thursday.
