The Head of Acquisitions is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the company’s M&A strategy, leading all phases of acquisition processes, and delivering long-term value creation. This individual will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to identify, evaluate, and acquire businesses that align with the company’s strategic vision, ensuring successful integration and sustainable growth.

The Head of Acquisitions will play a central role in scaling the company through strategic acquisitions and creating a repeatable framework for M&A success.
Key Responsibilities:
Acquisition Strategy
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to develop and refine the company’s acquisition strategy, ensuring alignment with growth objectives.
- Define specific criteria for acquisition targets, including financial performance, client portfolios, service offerings, and cultural compatibility.
- Develop a structured, repeatable process for sourcing, evaluating, and integrating acquisitions.
- Build and maintain a dynamic pipeline of potential acquisition targets, prioritizing opportunities that align with the company’s strategic vision.
- Establish partnerships with a network of industry advisors, brokers, and intermediaries to identify high-potential targets.
- Conduct regular industry and market analyses to identify trends and emerging opportunities.
Sourcing Prospective Acquisition Targets
- Source acquisition opportunities through inbound inquiries, proactive outreach, and market research.
- Leverage industry connections, conferences, and networking events to build relationships with potential acquisition targets.
- Perform preliminary assessments of target companies to evaluate financial health, operational capabilities, and cultural alignment.
- Create and maintain detailed profiles for prospective targets, ensuring transparency in decision-making.
- Provide regular updates to the leadership team and board on acquisition pipeline progress and prioritization.
Deal Execution
- Lead due diligence efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams (finance, legal, operations, etc.) to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of risks and opportunities.
- Develop financial models, valuations, and deal structures that meet strategic and financial objectives.
- Lead negotiations with target companies, brokers, and legal representatives to finalize deal terms.
- Prepare acquisition proposals and present findings to the board of directors for approval.
Integration Planning and Execution
- Partner with operations and leadership teams to create integration playbooks for new acquisitions.
- Define and execute frameworks for cultural alignment, operational cooperation, and organizational efficiency.
- Oversee the post-acquisition transition process, including onboarding, system integration, and team alignment.
- Establish and track KPIs for post-acquisition success, ensuring alignment with company-wide goals.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including advisors, industry leaders, and acquisition candidates.
- Act as a representative of the company during negotiations and due diligence processes, ensuring professionalism and transparency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in corporate development, corporate leadership, private equity, or investment banking.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Experience in the digital marketing, technology, or professional services.
- Familiarity with EOS or similar operating systems is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Milestones and KPIs
- Complete 2 acquisitions in 2025 (subject to deal complexity and pipeline availability).
- Establish a vetted acquisition pipeline within the first 90 days, with 5-7 high-potential targets identified.
- Complete due diligence and close on the first acquisition within 6-9 months.
- Deliver operational efficiencies in post-acquisition integrations within 6 months of each acquisition.
- Track and report on key performance metrics, including revenue growth, profitability, and cultural alignment for each acquired entity.
30, 60, 90-Day Plan
First 30 Days
- Onboard with SearchLab leadership team to understand strategic goals and culture.
- Review existing acquisition pipeline and evaluate the company’s market positioning.
- Define immediate priorities for building an acquisition framework and sourcing targets.
60 Days
- Build a robust pipeline of potential acquisition targets, including outreach and research.
- Begin initial conversations with brokers and advisors to identify high-priority opportunities.
- Develop acquisition criteria and establish processes for due diligence and evaluation.
90 Days
- Present a detailed acquisition strategy and initial pipeline to the leadership team and board.
- Begin due diligence on 1 high-potential acquisition target.
- Establish integration frameworks and KPIs for tracking post-acquisition performance.
Compensation Structure
- Base Salary: 140,000 to 165,000 (plus bonus)
