Google is deprecating the Vehicles for Sale features on Google Business Profiles on November 12th, 2025. You can see the notification on the Google Developer’s page on Vehicle Listings.

Google’s official statement on their blog states that “… part of our ongoing efforts to simplify the Google Search results page, we will be phasing out support for a few structured data features in Search. We regularly evaluate the usefulness of Search features, both for users and website owners.”

Other actions have phased out support for structured data features, also outlined in the official statement linked above. Vehicles for Sale, a feature that feeds in actual inventory from dealerships of all types, is just the latest on the chopping block and will be deprecated on November 12th, 2025. This will take away one feature that allows shoppers to engage with your inventory; however, perhaps the lack of usage is why Google has made this decision.

Removing features isn’t the only way that Google has fundamentally changed what consumers see in search results. There’s also been a growing permeation through transactional, commercial, and informational searches with AI Overviews. So small businesses, like yours, are continuing to be tasked with leveraging strategic ways to continue to gain consumers’ attention and clicks.

But, specifically, what does this change mean for your inventory’s visibility in search results?

VLAs: Showcasing Your Vehicles

It’s important to surface your inventory to meet consumers where they’re engaging. That’s why leveraging VLAs (Vehicle Listing Ads) for showcasing vehicles in the SERPs is more important than ever for visibility.
